· Design and build the Linux image and kernel for a small NAS server, including patch management, testing, and build processes (C, shell scripts, PERL)

· Port pieces of HP’s previous revision of MediaSmart software from Java to .NET C#.
· Create and manage the system restore process for HP’s next generation MediaSmart servers (C#)
· Create a media management and offloading solution for HP’s Media Smart Servers (C#, SQL, vbscript)

Created a restore
process for HP’s MediaSmart server that reduced
hardware costs and improved unit margin.

· Managed the delivery of HP’s IA-64 hardware validation tool to partners and external customers.
· Owned the low-level hardware monitor portion of SHML’s hardware validation and diagnosis tool.
· Implemented support for all new HP server platforms in the hardware monitor.
Achievements:
Ø Successfully managed the delivery of SHML’s next generation hardware validation tool without interrupting HP’s server manufacturing operations.
Ø Ported the hardware monitor to a new platform three months ahead of schedule using the hardware simulator.
Software Engineer (Kernel) 1999-2004
Richardson, TX and Fort Collins, CO
· Participate in various HP-UX kernel projects on HP’s IPF (IA-64) platform. This includes the full new platform/product lifecycle.
Achievements:
Ø Wrote various pieces of HP-UX 11i 1.5 and 1.6, including clock and interrupt management code, event timers, energy saving code (low power mode), many defect fixes and several patches.
Ø Wrote the hardware discovery and management code for HP’s first server running dual-core CPUs
