Shrimp and Egg Ramen

I’m not sure if shrimp and hard-boiled eggs will go well together, but here it is...

  • 1 package of shrimp flavored ramen
  • 1 hard boiled egg
  • 5-6 shirmp, frozen and peeled

Cook the egg and peel it ahead of time. Boil your water (per directions). Add your shrimp when it starts to boil, and add your noodles when it re-boils. I like my noodles a little underdone. Add your egg (cut in half) and seasoning. Consume.

  • 1 Package Creamy Chicken Ramen
  • 1 Can Canned Chicken
  • 1/2 Tsp Canned Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tbl Butter
  • 1/2 Tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Tbl Sriracha, or Red Chili Flakes

  • 1/2 oz White Wine
  • Herbed Feta Cheese

Start by shredding and seasoning canned chicken with chili powder, salt, pepper, and 1/2 package of ramen seasoning. Boil Ramen noodles until tender, drain. Add a little butter to non-stick pan and get it hot, add chicken, let brown on one side, flip chicken, cook on med-high heat until nicely browned and slightly crispy. Reserve cooked chicken.
Reheat same pan, add butter and allow to brown slighty, but not burn. This will give a very nice nutty brown butter flavor to the noodles. Add minced garlic. Cook until just fragrant.
Add noodles to brown butter/garlic mixture, salt, pepper. cook on high heat stirring constantly until hot. Add sriracha, or crushed chili flakes. (Optional: deglaze noodles with a little white wine and cook until almost dry). Add chicken, toss until heated through
Serve with crumbled herbed feta cheese or parmesan.

What’s For Dessert?

I have never had ramen for dessert, and frankly, I don't find the idea very appetizing. You guys???

Upgraded to WP 2.0.2

I know you guys love “meta”, so here goes:

I moved out of the stone age and upgraded to Word Press 2.0.2 on Saturday. Aside from the obnoxious new editor, it's pretty slick. Upgrading was easy, a simple process really. If anything is broken, use the link on the right and let me know.

Update: And the winner is! The email form, which was broken until about 15 seconds ago. Sorry about that.

Cheesy Ranch Ramen

A “healthy” ramen snack.

  • 2 packages of any flavor ramen (your not gonna use the packet anyway)
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheese ( I prefer cheddar, to each his own)
  • a pinch of parsley (optional)
  • a pinch of basil (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Take the ramen packets and while there are still in the packages crush the ramen up, dont turn it into dust, but in many many pieces. Now take the ramen in a pot and fill the pot with water to cover the noodles, and cook them like the package says. Drain the noodles with a fork, I wouldnt suggest a strainer, seeing how the noodles would fall out.

Put the drained ramen back on the stove and under low heat add the cheese and ranch dressing and stir until the cheese is melted and add any seasonigs you please.

Under New Management!

I am excited to announce that The Official Ramen Homepage has been purchased by Google. Google is looking to integrate ramen recipes and reviews into their products, such as Google Toolbar and Google Desktop. We have been partnering with Google for some time, but this takes the relationship to a new level. Google also plans on integrating this page with it's China subsidiary by disallowing connections from mainland China (Hong Kong connections will still be allowed).

Look for a new interface coming soon.

For the curious, although I cannot disclose the actual terms of the deal, it was made in cash, GOOG warrants, and GOOG puts. The value is in excess of $3 million US dollars.
