YOKOSUKA, Japan, Oct. 25 (UPI) — Nine instant noodle cups emitting strong chemical odors have been found to contain insecticides, Japanese health officials said Saturday.
The Japanese Consumers’ Cooperative Union said Friday that nine of the 29 reported cases of contaminated instant noodle cups have been confirmed as containing traces of the insect repellents naphthalene and paradichlorobenzene, The Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported.
Among the confirmed cases was a September incident in Yokosuka, a city in Kanagawa Prefecture, involving a 50-year-old man who noticed the chemical odor after making two servings of instant ramen.

I’ve never had Johnny’s Salt before, but I think any mixed seasoning will do. My wife came home from Savannah, GA with some Paula Deen Silly Salt. It’s pretty good.

Ingredients
- 1 fried cut up hamburger patty
- 2 packs chicken Ramen and flavor pack
- 1 table spoon of Johnny\’s Salt
- 1 teaspoon A-1 sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcester sauces
- 2 slices American cheese
Fry hamburger and add Johnnys Salt, A-1 Sauce, and Worcester sauce. Cut pre-cooked hamburger into 1/4 inch pieces. set aside. Boil ramen, drain, and put back into pan. Add cheese, hamburger, and flavor packs. Pull through ramen with fork to ensure cheese and seasoning is spread evenly through out. After the cheese is fully melted and stirred in.. Enjoy!

A colleague of mine said that ramen noodles were on “How It’s Made” last night, or at least he thinks that’s the show. Can anyone confirm?
Update: I think it was on Unwrapped, not How It’s Made, which I have already reported on here, sorry!
