Just thought I’d point out that McDonalds apple pies are not the best way to gauge a bail-out. $700 billion USD will buy you 3.5 TRILLION (3,500,000,000,000) packs of ramen at 20 cents per pack, although I imagine you could get a better discount at that bulk rate. Since ramen is about 1″ thick, we could stack this pile of ramen from the Earth to the Moon over 230 times (I hope I did the math right). At 6.725 billion people, we could also buy every single person on earth 520 packs of ramen! Or, we could give every investment bank employee a three year supply of noodles, either way, this is a bailout that I support!

Update: As I suspected, my math was wrong in the earlier posting. I forgot to convert from inches to meters when I did the calculations.

Posting stuff is much harder with a kid around the house!

    Ingredients

  • 1 Shrimp flavor Ramen pack
  • Honey
  • Mustard
  • Chipotle sauce
  • 6 Generic frozen chicken nuggets

Prepare the noodles while the chicken nuggets are cooking (for best results bake or deep fry the chicken). Add crushed Ramen noodles to boiling water and turn off stove, allow the ramen to stand. Cut the chicken nuggets into 4 way pieces. Next, strain noodles and mix in the chicken and the shrimp flavor pack. Add 2Tbsp of honey, 1Tbsp of mustard, and 2-4Tsp of chipotle sauce. You may need to add a small amount of hot water if it is too dry.

Here’s the link to the 9 News story on ramen. Nelson Garcia came up to my house yesterday and I did manage to find some steak leftover in the fridge. Finding leftover steak is so cool, it’s like finding $10 in your pocket.

PS – I am working on Adele Arakawa recipe.

The 9 News van is on the way to my house to watch me cook some ramen recipes and discuss the state of ramen. I had about 90 minute notice and they caught me with no ramen in the house! I ran to the store and I plan on making a soup and a stir-fry style dish as well.

PS – 9 News is the best local news channel in Denver, regardless of whether or not I’m on!

When my wife was pregnant, she stopped eating Funions, normally her favorite type of chip, because I don’t think anyone knows what they’re really made of or from.

    Ingredients

  • Pack of Ramen Noodles
  • Onion Powder
  • St. Louis style chicken and rib rub spice

Boil your ramen noodles as normal and instead of adding your chicken flavoring, add a combination of the two spices to the boiled water. Add a good amount of the two spices and stir until well mixed (actualy amount is up to you, but start with 1 tsp each). Let the noodles soak in the flavor for a few minutes then drain. The taste reminds me of the sweet tangy taste of mesquite sauce and a funion. Very tasty! Note: You can taste the broth to see the flavor, but the taste in the noodles will be less intense than the broth.

There are probably infinitely many types of curry powder, so if anyone tries this, be sure to comment on which kind you use.

As I guessed earlier, I’ve been delayed in making new posts since I now have a new family member. he was born on Monday, no wait, Tuesday at about 5am. I haven’t been eating ramen since the in-laws are here cooking roasts just about every day!
